Teaching

My teaching philosophy centers feminist pedagogical approaches where students address empirical, methodological, and theoretical academic concerns through their lived experiences. Building from feminist pedagogical methods in reflexivity and difference, students are given tools to analyze and adapt course materials to their educational and career objectives. Central to my teaching philosophy is an engaged pedagogy that builds from my research on race, gender, and health to create an environment where students learn from each other, cross-culturally. I am a natural educator who has over 15 years experience working with Youth organizing for social change.

My teaching interests are in Black geographies, history of science, gender women and sexuality studies and critical theory. I have taught courses related to Political Economy, Queer Geographies, Diaspora Studies, and Black Studies.
